Piglet<\/a>, Porky Pig, Miss Piggy and other characters \u2014 as well as porcine objects such as piggy banks and novelty pig calendars \u2014 are apparently unwelcome these days in corners of Great Britain. In response to a complaint from a Muslim that such animals are \u201cunclean\u201d, the Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council has banned all such \u201cpig-related\u201d items, including a tissue box featuring Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet, from its offices.<\/span><\/p>\n

I first heard about this via Mark Steyn\u2019s column<\/a> in the Daily Telegraph<\/i> a couple days back (\u201cAs Pastor Niem\u00f6ller said, first they came for Piglet and I did not speak out because I was not a Disney character and, if I was, I\u2019m more of an Eeyore\u201d).
