CT Movies recently posted some more reader feedback<\/a>, including the following response to one of my reviews:<\/span><\/p>\n

I did not agree with your review of Herbie: Fully Loaded<\/a><\/i>. A review should be easy. Was I entertained? Yes. Same goes for my entire family, neighbors and friends. We all agree that it was a wonderful and fun family film. If you want to read about how Herbie made me a Christian please visit Herbiemania.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cA review should be easy\u201d? What does that<\/i> mean? Easy to write? Easy to read? It should go easy on the film being reviewed?<\/p>\n

Was I<\/i> entertained? Well, no, not really. Can\u2019t speak for any of my friends or family as I don\u2019t think any of them have seen the film.<\/p>\n

Hmmm. That<\/i> was easy to write, I guess. Not very enlightening or fun, though. And it certainly doesn\u2019t fill my word count.<\/p>\n

Speaking of which, the most priceless comment comes in a letter responding to another writer\u2019s review of Batman Begins<\/a><\/i>:<\/p>\n

Extensive space and celebration in your reviews goes to innocuous issues such as cinematography and direction while those things which should matter to followers of Christ were not mentioned, and your readers were left unwarned.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yup, that\u2019s right, Christians don\u2019t need to notice trivial details like how a film is shot, directed, edited, and so on \u2014 we don\u2019t need to know how a film constructs and communicates meaning<\/i> \u2014 just as Christians don\u2019t need to learn how to read, I suppose.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
