And while I don\u2019t care for <a href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20030728154200\/http:\/\/novogate.com\/board\/3322\/123709-1.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">the sequels<\/a> so much, I do love the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B00000AEDU\/petertchatta\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">soundtracks<\/a> to all three films.  So I rather like the <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/critics\/music\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">New Yorker<\/a><\/i>\u2018s current music column, which is divided roughly in half between a consideration of soundtrack composition in general, and a look at Philip Glass\u2019s music for these <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2005\/03\/must-films-always-tell-stories.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Godfrey Reggio<\/a> films.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">2.<\/a> Speaking of composers, <a href=\"http:\/\/movies.yahoo.com\/mv\/news\/fs\/20050627\/111992760000.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">FilmStew.com<\/a> reports that there are currently two films in the works about Antonio Vivaldi, \u201cthe eccentric 18th century Baroque composer who started out as a Catholic priest.\u201d  One is being developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mechaniks.com\/main.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Mechaniks<\/a>, based on a script by Jeffrey Freedman, and the other is being developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2005\/06\/newsbites-bo-woes-closure-lab-rats-etc.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Ron Howard<\/a> and Brian Grazer\u2019s Imagine Entertainment:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Mechaniks script follows Vivaldi as a young priest assigned to serve as a music master of a school for the abandoned, illegitimate daughters of Venice\u2019s courtesans. He is plagued by asthma and questions of faith to the Catholic church but wins the trust and affection of the girls, and his bond with them leads to a concert of his music before the pope.<\/p>\n<p>Imagine and Columbia\u2019s version is reported to follow Vivaldi\u2019s forbidden romance with his muse, Anna, who inspired his most famous composition, \u201cThe Four Seasons.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a name=\"3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">3.<\/a> <i><a href=\"http:\/\/movies.yahoo.com\/mv\/news\/va\/20050628\/111996196100.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/i> reports that the concert film <i>Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic<\/i>, featuring the controversial Jewish <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0798971\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">stand-up comic<\/a> of that name, will come to theatres in November.
