(<i>I Love You, Man<\/i> is not an Apatow film, but its two lead actors, Paul Rudd and Jason Segel, are both veterans of Apatow films such as <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2008\/06\/defiance-heroes-murderers-both.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Knocked Up<\/a><\/i> and <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2008\/04\/hes-got-lot-to-offer-but-hes-not-funny.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Forgetting Sarah Marshall<\/a><\/i>.)<\/p>\n<p>And now, <a href=\"http:\/\/popwatch.ew.com\/popwatch\/2009\/03\/i-love-you-man.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jennifer Armstrong<\/a> at <i>Entertainment Weekly<\/i> says this film \u201crespects\u201d women more than recent <i>female<\/i>-oriented comedies such as <i>He\u2019s Just Not That Into You<\/i> and <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2009\/01\/newsbites-reimagined-stories-edition.html#6\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Confessions of a Shopaholic<\/a><\/i>; while those other films \u201cpaint women as desperate creatures\u201d, says Armstrong, this new one \u201cloves its ladies\u201d and \u201cfinds fresh angles on female characters\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>I can\u2019t say I disagree with her.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I Love You, Man may be a \u201cbromantic\u201d comedy \u2014 a buddy flick about two men who are secure enough in their masculinity to express their platonic love for one another \u2014 but that doesn\u2019t mean women can\u2019t get something out of it too.
