First, it was claimed that Anton Yelchin \u2014 the not-quite-20-year-old actor who plays Kyle Reese in <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2009\/02\/will-original-sarah-connor-be-back.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Terminator Salvation<\/a><\/i> and Pavel Chekov in the new <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2009\/02\/star-trek-and-sci-fi-action-movies.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Star Trek<\/a><\/i> \u2014 was in the running to play test-pilot-turned-superhero Hal Jordan. Many fans dismissed the idea immediately because Yelchin is too young for the part, and Yelchin himself agrees with them. Meanwhile, it is also being reported that Gil Kenan was attached to direct <i>Green Lantern<\/i> until his last movie, <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2008\/10\/walden-media-keeping-busy-without-fox.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">City of Ember<\/a><\/i>, flopped at the box office and all but shuttered Fox-Walden; the film is now set to be directed by <a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2009\/02\/newsbites-superheroes-etc-edition.html#1\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Martin Campbell<\/a>, whose last film was <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2009\/01\/newsbites-box-office-trivia-edition.html#3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Casino Royale<\/a><\/i> (2006). \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latinoreview.com\/news\/from-kyle-reese-to-green-lantern-6278\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Latino Review<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hitfix.com\/blogs\/8\/posts\/2009-2-28-wondercon-2009-anton-yelchin-says-he-isn-t-green-lantern\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Hitfix<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/theplaylist.blogspot.com\/2009\/02\/exclusive-gil-kenan-was-to-be-your.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Playlist<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">2.<\/a> One of the most acclaimed animated films of last year \u2014 cinephiles as varied as <a href=\"http:\/\/filmjourney.weblogger.com\/2009\/02\/27\/sita-sings-the-blues-online\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Doug Cummings<\/a> and Cartoon Brew\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cartoonbrew.com\/feature-film\/sita-in-the-ny-times.html\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Amid Amidi<\/a> have named it the best animated feature of 2008, and critics like <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.suntimes.com\/ebert\/2008\/12\/having_wonderful_time_wish_you.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Roger Ebert<\/a> have also sung its praises \u2014 is now viewable in its entirety online.  <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1172203\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Sita Sings the Blues<\/a><\/i> tells the story of a Hindu goddess who is separated from her husband, and because it makes heavy use of 1920s jazz songs, the film has been lost in copyright limbo and unable to secure a theatrical release. \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thirteen.org\/sites\/reel13\/blog\/watch-sita-sings-the-blues-online\/347\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Reel 13<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">3.<\/a> John Williams will score <i><a href=\"http:\/\/filmchatblog.blogspot.com\/2009\/01\/newsbites-reimagined-stories-edition.html#3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn<\/a><\/i> and thereby mark his 24th collaboration with director Steven Spielberg, not counting television and short films.
