Having directed remakes of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre<\/a><\/i> (2003), Pathfinder<\/a><\/i> (2007) and Friday the 13th<\/a><\/i> (opens next week), it looks like Marcus Nispel may be looking for something a little more original to do. But he may be trying too hard, or perhaps not hard enough.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consider this recent statement<\/a>, via ShockTillYouDrop.com:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a movie that I\u2019m interested in. A great movie about cloning, it\u2019s called Immaculate Conception,\u201d the German director said. \u201cA girl gets pregnant, doesn\u2019t know why. You think it goes like Rosemary\u2019s Baby but it\u2019s not a horror movie, though. You find out that she\u2019s part of an experiment. Leaving aside the fact that Nispel, like many other people, seems to be confusing immaculate conceptions<\/a> with the virginal kind, you have to give the guy credit for not trying to clone Jesus from the blood stains on the Shroud of Turin<\/a>.
