First he directed the pilot episode for Kings<\/a><\/i>, the upcoming TV series based on the story of Saul and David, and now he is attached to direct Samson<\/i>, \u201ca futuristic retelling of the Samson and Delilah story.\u201d (He also directed 2005\u2019s Constantine<\/i> and 2007\u2019s I Am Legend<\/a><\/i>, both of which had religious elements of their own.) I don\u2019t know what the word \u201cfuturistic\u201d is supposed to mean in this context, but this movie may be part of a larger trend; only three months ago<\/a>, it was announced that Brad Pitt would star in a \u201cfuturistic\u201d version of The Odyssey<\/i> set in outer space. At any rate, the Samson<\/i> script will be written by Scott Silver, whose previous credits include 8 Mile<\/i> (2002) and The Mod Squad<\/i> (1999). \u2014 Variety<\/a><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

2.<\/a> The new Sherlock Holmes<\/a><\/i>, starring Robert Downey Jr. and directed by Guy Ritchie, will make its title character more of an action hero than he has ever been before; in the words of producer Joel Silver, he\u2019ll be \u201clike James Bond in 1891.\u201d \u2014 New York Times<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n

3.<\/a> The Bielski brothers are taking over Tintin<\/i>! Defiance<\/a><\/i> co-stars Daniel Craig and Jamie Bell have joined the cast of Steven Spielberg\u2019s The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn<\/a><\/i>, which began shooting today; Craig will play the pirate Red Rackham, while Bell is taking Thomas Sangster<\/a>\u2018s place as Tintin himself. It\u2019s a really hardcore action film done in Renaissance painting style. . . . I\u2019m kind of going with, you know, Renaissance time with electricity.
