\u201cWhat do you think?\u201d asks George Clooney after shooting a scene for the Bible-movie-within-the-movie in the Coen brothers\u2019 Hail, Caesar!<\/a><\/i>. \u201cIs that enough awe?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, maybe a little more wonderment?\u201d replies co-director Ethan Coen.<\/p>\n

So begins a collection of behind-the-scenes footage that went online two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

The scene they\u2019re shooting is a parody of a classic moment from Ben-Hur<\/a><\/i>, in which a pushy Roman soldier is stopped dead in his tracks by the sight of Jesus.<\/p>\n

The face of Jesus himself stays hidden from the camera, so the dramatic power of this scene (and its parody) rests with the actor who plays the Roman soldier \u2014 and what was dramatic in Ben-Hur<\/i> is, of course, played for laughs in Hail, Caesar!<\/i><\/p>\n
