I love Osmosis Jones<\/a><\/i> (2001). It features Chris Rock as the voice of a white blood cell, and William Shatner as the voice of a pompous neuron who lives inside Bill Murray\u2019s brain.<\/span><\/p>\n

So naturally, in a similar animation-makes-microscopic-objects-come-to-life sort of vein, I cannot help but be intrigued by a film like Quantum Quest<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n

According to Variety<\/a><\/i>, it\u2019s a cartoon about \u201ca photon who lives in the sun and who is drawn into a galactic battle between the Core . . . and the Void\u201d. And Shatner is playing the voice of the Core.<\/p>\n

Even better, the photon will be played by Chris Pine, who plays the young version of Shatner \u2014 or, more accurately, the young version of Captain Kirk \u2014 in the upcoming Star Trek<\/a><\/i> movie.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, the Void will be played by Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker. And the cast includes at least three other Star Wars<\/a><\/i> alumni, namely James Earl Jones, Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson.<\/p>\n

On top of all that, this movie \u2014 which premieres on IMAX screens later this year \u2014 will also feature the voice of Neil Armstrong. (Armstrong may have been the first man to set foot on the moon, but when it comes to IMAX cartoons, he seems to be following in the footsteps of his Apollo 11<\/i> flightmate Buzz Aldrin, who contributed his voice to last year\u2019s Fly Me to the Moon<\/a><\/i>.)<\/p>\n

The film is being produced in conjunction with NASA. It might be good, it might be horrible. But if Osmosis Jones<\/i> proved anything, it was that concepts this goofy can work rather well.
