Deadline<\/a> reports that Tahar Rahim, a French actor of Algerian descent best known for his starring role in Jacques Audiard\u2019s A Prophet<\/i> (pictured above), is in talks to play Judas Iscariot in Garth Davis\u2019s upcoming Mary Magdalene movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rahim would join a cast that already includes Joaquin Phoenix as Jesus, Chiwetel Ejiofor as the apostle Peter, and Rooney Mara as the Magdalene herself.<\/p>\n

This would not be the first time Rahim has appeared in a film set in ancient Roman times. He previously played the \u2018Seal Prince\u2019 in The Eagle<\/i>, a 2011 film starring Channing Tatum as a Roman officer stationed in Britain circa AD 140.<\/p>\n
