Lewis<\/a>\u2018s \u201cspace trilogy\u201d, was turned into an opera between 1960 and 1964, with Lewis\u2019s consent. However, shortly after Lewis\u2019s death on November 22, 1963 \u2014 exactly 45 years ago today \u2014 someone bought the film rights, and as a result, the opera could not be performed in public any more. But that will change next year, in June, when the \u201ctheatrical oratorio\u201d receives its \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/perelandraproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">second premiere<\/a>\u201d in Oxford. Of course, as a film buff, what <i>I<\/i> want to know is what happened to those film rights. Does anybody own them now? If so, who? \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/soulfoodvancouver.blogspot.com\/2008\/11\/perelandra-in-oxford.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Soul Food Vancouver<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"2\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">2.<\/a> Warner Brothers has acquired a sci-fi script called <i>The Days Before<\/i>, and, as a fan of both time travel stories and stories that are told in reverse chronological order, I love the premise: \u201cStory centers on aliens invading Earth by traveling backwards through time and wiping out humanity \u2014 yesterday by yesterday \u2014 while one man stays a yesterday ahead of them, trying to convince the world that the end is coming again.\u201d \u2014 <i><a href=\"http:\/\/www.variety.com\/article\/VR1117996111.html?categoryid=13&amp;cs=1&amp;nid=2562\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Variety<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"3\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">3.<\/a> New Regency has bought the rights to an out-of-print Isaac Asimov time travel novel called <i><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_End_of_Eternity\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">The End of Eternity<\/a><\/i>. The story is \u201ca futuristic tale in which humanity is controlled by a ruling class called Eternity, member of which can manipulate time to alter history and prevent disasters or wipe out undesirables.
