Just a few quick items tonight.<\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/a> Watchmen<\/a><\/i> director Zack Snyder has confirmed that the ending of his film will<\/i> deviate from the graphic novel somewhat \u2014 and that the film has only ever had the one ending, so the rumours of Warner testing two different endings are apparently false. Snyder\u2019s reasons for making the change make sense to me<\/i>, at least, so far, but we\u2019ll see how the film itself turns out. Snyder has some other interesting thoughts on the film, too, for example when he discusses how he chose the music for the soundtrack, which the graphic novel obviously wouldn\u2019t have had to deal with quite so much. (I believe the graphic novel does quote a song or two, but mainly for the lyrics, and not because it\u2019s trying to set the tone aurally or anything like that.) \u2014 Dark Horizons<\/a><\/p>\n

2.<\/a> The first six Star Trek<\/a><\/i> movies \u2014 i.e. the ones featuring the original series\u2019 cast \u2014 will probably come out on Blu-Ray next year, presumably to coincide with the sequel-prequel-reboot<\/a> that J.J. Abrams is directing<\/a>. But it looks like the Blu-Ray version of Star Trek: The Motion Picture<\/a><\/i> (1979) will be based on the theatrical edition of that film, and not on the slightly improved DVD edition that came out in 2001, because the souped-up special effects<\/a> were rendered in 480p, and not in high-def. \u2014 TrekMovie.com<\/a><\/p>\n
