Guillermo Del Toro has so many projects on his plate right now, it is doubtful he will ever find time to do them all. (He has already parted ways with Tarzan<\/a><\/i>.) But here are some of his thoughts on the projects he\u2019s still got on the go, as reported by the MTV Movies Blog.<\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/a> Del Toro is, of course, working on The Hobbit<\/a><\/i> first and foremost. And he says that he and his colleagues are now referring to The Hobbit<\/i> as one movie in two parts<\/a>, rather than as two completely separate movies. So where will they break the story? Del Toro isn\u2019t saying, quite, but he does say this: \u201cI think Smaug dies in the first movie. So draw your own conclusions.\u201d Del Toro also says there are currently no plans<\/a> for producer (and former Lord of the Rings<\/i> director) Peter Jackson to do any second-unit directing. But shooting the two films in 3-D and IMAX<\/a> is a possibility.<\/p>\n

2.<\/a> Next up, Del Toro talks about remaking Slaughterhouse-Five<\/a><\/i> (1972), and says \u201c digital effects<\/a>\u201d might make it easier to \u201cpush [the] narrative\u201d of Kurt Vonnegut\u2019s story about a man who is \u201cunstuck in time\u201d.<\/p>\n

3.<\/a> Finally, Del Toro says he would love to tap into the religious dimensions<\/a> of Frankenstein<\/i>. He sees the creature as \u201ca lost child of Paradise\u201d and says \u201cthere are aspects to it which is the dialogue between the creature and the creator for example [that haven\u2019t been fully explored].\u201d<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
