<\/a>Paul, Apostle of Christ<\/a><\/i> is coming to DVD.<\/p>\nThe film \u2014 which stars James Faulkner as the titular apostle and Jim Caviezel as Luke, the evangelist to whom Paul tells his life story as he awaits his execution in Rome \u2014 has earned almost $20 million at the global box office since opening in March.<\/p>\n
It is now set to come out via digital platforms like iTunes and Google Play on June 12, with a DVD and Blu-Ray release to follow on June 19.<\/p>\n

First, the disc will have two deleted scenes \u2014 \u2018Crucifying The Servants of God\u2019 and \u2018Followers of The Way\u2019 \u2014 which will \u201cportray Saul\u2019s life as a persecutor of Christians.\u201d I have not seen these scenes, but I wonder if the first one will show Paul taking part in the crucifixions himself? Crucifixion was a Roman<\/i> method of execution, not a Jewish one, and Paul, as far as we know, was working for the Jewish authorities, not the Roman ones. So I might quibble with that.1<\/sup><\/p>\n Second, the disc will have two bonus features grouped together under the heading \u2018The Living Word\u2019. One of them, \u2018Saul\u2019s Conversion\u2019, will provide \u201ca scripture visualization\u201d of Paul\u2019s journey, and the other, \u2018Paul\u2019s Letter,\u2019 will show \u201cthe wisdom of Paul\u2019s words spoken by James Faulkner which bring to light the power of faith.\u201d<\/p>\n Finally, there are three featurettes, at least two of which appear to have been posted online already: \u2018Recreating First Century Rome\u2019, \u2018The Path of The Apostle: Adapting Paul\u2019 and \u2018An Extraordinary Friendship: Luke & Paul\u2019.
