Today, the makers of Clash of the Titans<\/a><\/i> unveiled a brand-new clip<\/a> from their upcoming film \u2014 and it reminded me, of all things, of the most recent trailer<\/a> for Toy Story 3<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n

Why did it remind me of this? Because both of these videos include point-of-view shots taken from the perspective of a detached eye; in Clash of the Titans<\/i>, it is the eye shared by the three Stygian witches<\/a>, while in Toy Story 3<\/i>, it is one of the eyes that belong to Mrs. Potato Head<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, if only there were a third example of this out there right now, we\u2019d have an official trend on our hands.<\/p>\n

Anyway, speaking of Clash of the Titans<\/i>, there have been a few more updates to pass along since the last time I mentioned that film here. So, in no particular order:<\/p>\n

\u2014 The filmmakers are already talking about turning this remake into a trilogy. (MTV Movies Blog<\/a>)<\/p>\n

\u2014 The last-minute conversion of this film from 2D to 3D has been getting some pretty mixed reviews. (Matt Holmes<\/a>, Patrick Goldstein<\/a>)<\/p>\n

\u2014 Harry Hamlin, who starred in the original Clash of the Titans<\/i> back in 1981<\/a>, says he\u2019s \u201csure\u201d the new version will be \u201cbetter\u201d, at least on a technical level. (Los Angeles Times<\/a><\/i>)<\/p>\n

\u2014 The filmmakers knew what it would take to ensure that their film got a PG-13 rating in the United States, rather than an R: \u201cIt\u2019s fine to kill monsters. It\u2019s harder to kill real people . . . The blood can\u2019t be red.
