Why did you write Forgiven?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\nTerri Roberts: I have experienced hope and joy through remarkable forgiveness within my community. It\u2019s a real-life story of God\u2019s grace that the world needs to hear.<\/p>\n
Tell us a bit about the experiences that shaped the insights in the book.<\/strong><\/p>\nTerri Roberts: Our son was responsible for the worst crime I had ever heard of, and it tore apart the lives of many in our community. Instead of bitterness and rejection, I experienced love and compassion from those who were wounded by his actions. Because of the way they embraced me, I was able to move forward to face another day. Now I am thriving in the community beyond what I could have ever imagined.<\/p>\n
Give us two or three insights from the book that would be helpful to Christians.<\/strong><\/p>\nTerri Roberts: Choosing to forgive keeps us from becoming bitter. We don\u2019t need to live in our sorrow 24\/7. We can recognize it as a part of our history while asking God to create new tomorrows to soften our pain. The peace that passes understanding is possible\u2014it means facing the hard places with gratitude within<\/em> our circumstances, not avoiding them.<\/p>\nWhat do you hope readers will walk away with after they finish your book?<\/strong><\/p>\nTerri Roberts: A new confidence in moving into one tomorrow after another.<\/p>\n
What has the response to the book been so far?<\/strong><\/p>\nTerri Roberts: Readers have been incredibly thankful to discover nuggets that they\u2019d never considered before. They\u2019ve shared emotional stories of how they\u2019ve released bitterness.<\/p>\n
What else do you wish to say about it?<\/strong><\/p>\nTerri Roberts: The circumstances of our lives are so varied. My life story has inspired many, and I would love to hear readers tell me how it has touched their lives as they join me in this journey.<\/p>\n
