Leaders of the Satanic Temple are starting a new initiative that might be coming to your kid\u2019s elementary school, according to the Washington Post<\/a>:<\/p>\n

They point out that Christian evangelical groups already have infiltrated the lives of America\u2019s children through after-school religious programming in public schools, and they appear determined to give young students a choice: Jesus or Satan.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s critical that children understand that there are multiple perspectives on all issues, and that they have a choice in how they think,\u201d said Doug Mesner, the Satanic Temple\u2019s co-founder.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So what would an after school program led by the Satanic Temple be like?<\/p>\n

Well, The Satanic Temple \u2014 in spite of their name \u2014 claims\u00a0they don\u2019t actually believe in Satan. \u00a0Apparently it\u2019s a way to draw attention to atheism, which just isn\u2019t sexy enough to get headlines without throwing in a reference to the being they say they don\u2019t believe in.<\/p>\n

Then, they claim to be committed \u201cscientific rationality.\u201d<\/p>\n

I gotta say \u2014 the fact that they can apply\u00a0the words \u201cscientific rationality\u201d to an after school Satanic Club that is advertised in the below ad is just rich. \u00a0Nothing says logic, rationality, and science than this two minutes and twenty four seconds:<\/p>\n
