7. Tuesday was my 30th birthday. I know, right. It’s a big one. It was a wonderful day in a lot of respects. I got to have breakfast with Atticus (and only Atticus). Our first meal alone in a few months. Glorious. In the afternoon Maggie and I headed to the best mall around for some walking, clearance rack looking, and frozen yogurt. She had chocolate with strawberries. I had chocolate peanut butter with dark chocolate chips. I love love... Read more

I was crying again. Sitting in the semi-darkness, the only light coming from the muted TV. Rocking her, always rocking her. My little 3rd child, the one who smiled at me first. The one who cries and cries when not in arms. The one whose body relaxes as I ease her into the Ergo, heart to heart once more. My girl baby who spent all 8 months of pregnancy curled up, belly to belly with mom. She had just finished... Read more

1. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work I read a wonderful article yesterday by the author of this book, which led me to it. 7 secrets of a happy marriage. The book shares 12, but the article was merely a teaser. I LOVE it. Had to download the book on my kindle. So good. 2. This guy. Mr. Bruce Springsteen. Love him. I celebrate the man’s entire collection. The best concert I ever attended (other than Yo-Yo Ma with the symphony... Read more

This week’s five favorites are courtesy of both my husbandand Santa Claus. 1. Fine Dining for the Homebody My wonderful (and terribly altruistic) husband, Atticus, gave me a Staub cast-iron dutch oven for Christmas. Friends, I have had my eye (perhaps even both eyes) on one of these for a long time. Since we’ll be spending many, many date nights indoors in the coming year(s), it seemed such a wonderfully apt gift. I haven’t had a ton of time to... Read more

On Friday we celebrated our fifth anniversary. It was somehow appropriate that this year, we spent it at home, with a man coming by to do routine maintenance on the furnace. We held babies, played with Maggie, folded laundry, and made bottles. It was, in a lot of ways, a completely ordinary day. Then, a wonderful friend (and fellow twin mama) who lives down the street gave us a tremendous gift; a meal alone. She came down and watched the... Read more

Someday I’ll have enough time to blog something other than baby pictures, but today is not that day. So here are some photos that my very talented friend Beth took of my sweet babies. They are so very sweet. They like to snuggle, and we love to snuggle with them. What do you think? Let me know if you’re up for some baby snuggling; its good for the soul. Read more

7. I can’t believe we’ve been home for a full week already, and that Charlie and Mary Cate will be two weeks old on Monday. What I also really can’t believe is that earlier this week we had the coldest night we’ve had since February 2011, otherwise known as the last time we had a newborn at home. Sorry guys, we’re gonna have a suck winter because apparently they only come around on the winters when we’ve got babies at... Read more

I had this post all ready on Sunday to post on Monday, and then, you know, the babies came. So it didn’t get published. But I wanted to share some photos of their super-cute twin nursery, and all the deets about the feathered nest. So. On December 2, 2013, our babies were born at 1:18 and 1:20 pm. It was completely unexpected and not gonna lie, overwhelming. Charles Joseph was born at 1:18 pm weighing 5 pounds, 2 ounces and 19 inches long. Mary Catherine Theresa was born at 1:20 pm weighing 6 pounds, 6 ounces and 19 inches long. Proud Mama holding both peanuts! After a pretty uneventful Thanksgiving where we had a nice dinner with friends in town, and took Maggie to... Read more

Hello friends. We’ve been busy enjoying the fall and prepping for babies over here. I was 32 weeks on Friday, so we are in the home stretch. Based on info from the doctors, I’ll only be pregnant for another 5 weeks, max. Woah! Recently we had the equivalent of “Who’s on First?” on Halloween with “Is it happening? Is it not? Are we going to have a tornado? Will the 2 year olds melt?” We had Halloween on All Saints... Read more
