We finally all made a family trip to the Children\u2019s Museum this past weekend.<\/p>\n

Atticus had never been, so we went after church. It was so much fun. Maggie was able to enjoy the water table for the first time.<\/p>\n

She also loved the Mr. Potato Head exhibit. I forsee a lot of spring and summer (when its too hot for the Zoo) trips to the museum.<\/p>\n

I have been reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society this week.<\/p>\n

It is so.good.<\/p>\n

You know a book is good when you sit on the couch to read \u201ca bit\u201d, then look up and an hour has gone by. You keep reading \u201cjust a minute\u201d more and then it\u2019s 11 pm.<\/p>\n

Great books are not great for my sleep quota.<\/p>\n

5.<\/p>\n

Have you seen the Ryan Gosling stuff? It\u2019s pretty funny. Then I saw<\/p>\n

Catholic Ryan Gosling<\/a>. OMG.<\/p>\n

Maybe a tad.<\/p>\n

4.<\/p>\n

Did you see Simcha\u2019s<\/a> post about \u201cJezzie Catholics\u201d, otherwise known as women who seem to still call themselves Catholic, but are devout readers of Jezebel. (And not just people who read it to know what the other side is thinking.)<\/p>\n

My favorite part is this:<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of these folks don\u2019t have the first clue about what the Church is actually for.\u00a0 For instance, one reader laments Pope Paul VI\u2019s failure in his duty to . . . uphold the Constitution?<\/p>\n

[The Church has], I believe, a fundamentally flawed understanding of the First Amendment. Their handling of contraception during the Second Vatican Council was, I think, against the will of the Holy Spirit, since the assembly of lay people that they asked to consider the issue were overwhelmingly in favor of allowing contraception and the leadership didn\u2019t like it and so overruled them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She\u2019s right, of course.\u00a0 The Church is, like, the worst democracy ever (although the system of checks and balances is apparently robust, since the Holy Spirit\u2019s veto was overridden so handily).\u201d<\/p>\n

Simcha makes me laugh. A lot.<\/p>\n

3.<\/p>\n

IGNITUM TODAY<\/a> is having a 4 week symposium on Catholic education. I\u2019m really excited! I\u2019m going to be doing a profile on my alma mater, Mount St. Mary\u2019s University in MD.<\/p>\n

There is a light at the end of my dental work hell. The root canals are over! I just have two permanent crowns to put on, and then five more fillings.<\/p>\n

My lovely friend Elizabeth<\/a> sent me Audrey Assad\u2019s<\/a> new album, Heart for my birthday.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s wonderful. I can\u2019t recommend it highly enough.<\/p>\n

My favorite song is the second track, Even the Winter. One of the best songs about the ebb and flow of married love (at least that\u2019s what I think it\u2019s about) that I\u2019ve heard.<\/p>\n
