Two conservative atheists

Two conservative atheists May 7, 2014

Being a Christian is not the same as being a conservative, and being a conservative is not the same as being a Christian.  Two prominent conservative columnist, George Will and Charles Krauthammer, have come out as atheists, though of the sort that “respect religion and religious people.”

From Jamie Weinstein, George Will: ‘I’m an amiable, low voltage atheist’ | The Daily Caller:

Legendary conservative columnist George Will says he is an atheist.

Will explained his religious views — or lack thereof — during an extensive interview with The Daily Caller on politics, culture and his new book, “A Nice Little Place on the North Side: Wrigley Field at One Hundred.” .  . .“I am not religious at all,” Will interjected, when The Daily Caller said it heard he wasn’t particularly religious.

TheDC brought up its previous interview Charles Krauthammer, in which the other conservative Washington Post columnist said, “I don’t believe in God, but I fear him.”. . .

“I’m an amiable, low voltage atheist,” Will explained. “I deeply respect religions and religious people. The great religions reflect something constant and noble in the human character, defensible and admirable yearnings.”

“I am just not persuaded. That’s all,” he added.

I often post about what these two say in their columns.  Should I not do that?  Or, since conservativism and Christianity are two separate positions, am I free to do so?
