But the convention chairman, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, had to call for three voice votes from the floor.\u00a0 It appeared that most of the convention voted \u201cnay.\u201d\u00a0 Nevertheless, the chairman gavelled it through, ruling that the \u201cayes\u201d had it and that \u201cGod\u201d would be put back into the party platform.\u00a0 Whereupon the floor erupted in boos.<\/p>\n

Also put back in was language affirming Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.<\/p>\n
