The Invitation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Come ye hither all, whose taste<\/p>\n

Is your waste;<\/p>\n

Save your cost, and mend your fare.<\/p>\n

God is here prepar\u2019d and drest,<\/p>\n

And the feast,<\/p>\n

God, in whom all dainties are.<\/p>\n

\n<\/p>

Come ye hither all, whom wine<\/p>\n

Doth define,<\/p>\n

Naming you not to your good:<\/p>\n

Weep what ye have drunk amisse,<\/p>\n

And drink this,<\/p>\n

Which before ye drink is bloud.<\/p>\n

Come ye hither all, whom pain<\/p>\n

Doth arraigne,<\/p>\n

Bringing all your sinnes to sight:<\/p>\n

Taste and fear not: God is here<\/p>\n

In this cheer,<\/p>\n

And on sinne doth cast the fright.<\/p>\n

\n<\/p>

Come ye hither all, whom joy<\/p>\n

Doth destroy,<\/p>\n

While ye graze without your bounds:<\/p>\n

Here is joy that drowneth quite<\/p>\n

Your delight,<\/p>\n

As a floud the lower grounds.<\/p>\n

\n<\/p>

Come ye hither all, whose love<\/p>\n

Is your dove,<\/p>\n

And exalts you to the skie:<\/p>\n

Here is love, which having breath<\/p>\n

Ev\u2019n in death,<\/p>\n

After death can never die.<\/p>\n

Lord I have invited all,<\/p>\n

And I shall<\/p>\n

Still invite, still call to thee:<\/p>\n

For it seems but just and right<\/p>\n

In my sight,<\/p>\n

Where is all, there all should be.<\/p>\n
