The European establishment was hit by a political \u2018earthquake\u2019 last night after voters elected a raft of anti-immigration, Eurosceptic and far-Right politicians across the continent.<\/p>\n

The National Front won a historic victory in France and the anti-EU People\u2019s Party won in Denmark.<\/p>\n

There were also wins for Eurosceptic and right-wing parties in Austria, Italy, Poland and Hungary.<\/p>\n

Far-Right parties made big gains in Greece and neo-Nazis won a seat in Germany.<\/p>\n

The unprecedented surge in support for parties hostile to the EU in other countries mirrored the victory for Nigel Farage\u2019s Ukip.<\/p>\n

Overall, Eurosceptic parties doubled their representation in the European Parliament and now hold a third of all seats. The results were seen as a withering indictment of European leaders and the federalist direction of EU politics.<\/p>\n
