Wikipedia has filed a lawsuit against the National Security Agency and the Justice Department, seeking to stop the government\u2019s mass surveillance of the internet.<\/p>\n

Wikipedia filed a lawsuit on Tuesday challenging the constitutionality of the National Security Agency\u2019s mass surveillance of Internet communications, a sudden and striking challenge that comes nearly two years after Edward Snowden\u2019s disclosures first began.<\/p>\n

The online encyclopedia\u2019s suit against the NSA and the Justice Department claims that the U.S. government\u2019s mass surveillance regime threatens freedom of speech under the First Amendment and the Fourth Amendment\u2019s protection against unreasonable search and seizures.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
