The Obama administration, along with 5 other countries, reached a deal with Iran, cutting sanctions in return for a ten-year moratorium on that country\u2019s nuclear weapons program.\u00a0 So now, without sanctions, Iran can potentially sell its oil and grow rich and powerful, and possibly after a decade become a nuclear power.\u00a0 Israel is profoundly worried, if not panicked, and the balance of power in the Middle East is altered.\u00a0 But at least maybe the Shi\u2019ite Iran can counter the Sunni ISIS.\u00a0 What do you think of this deal?<\/p>\n

The announcement that world powers reached a nuclear deal with Iran delivered a powerful geopolitical jolt, setting off what promises to be months of contention in Washington and around the globe as key provisions begin taking effect.<\/p>\n

The deal reached in Vienna Tuesday was assailed by longtime American allies such as Israel\u2019s prime minister and celebrated by U.S. enemies such as Syria\u2019s president. It immediately sparked a fierce foreign policy debate on Capitol Hill.<\/p>\n

President Barack Obama said the deal demonstrates American diplomacy can bring about meaningful change and make the world safer while his European partners praised it as a new chapter in international relations.<\/p>\n

Iran reached a landmark nuclear agreement with the U.S. and five other world powers, a long-sought foreign policy goal of the Obama administration that sets the White House on course for months of political strife with dissenters in Congress and in allied Middle Eastern nations. . . .<\/p>\n

At the heart of the agreement between Iran and the U.S., U.K., Russia, China, Germany and France is Tehran\u2019s acceptance of strict limits on its nuclear activities for 10 years. These are supposed to ensure that the country remains a minimum of 12 months away from amassing enough nuclear fuel for a bomb.<\/p>\n
