A new video from the Center for Medical Progress, part of a documentary the group is making, features a biotech technician who tells of the aggressive approach used by Planned Parenthood in acquiring fetal organs to sell.\u00a0 This included pressuring mothers to sign over the body of their child or even taking the body without ever getting permission, as required by law.<\/p>\n

Abortionists would screen patients to find the type of fetus in demand.\u00a0 Even patients just coming in for a pregnancy test were screened for tissue donation.\u00a0 Killer quote:\u00a0 \u201cPregnancy tests are potential pregnancies, therefore potential specimens. So it\u2019s just taking advantage of the opportunities.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The series follows the personal narrative of Holly O\u2019Donnell, a former Blood and TIssue Procurement Technician for StemExpress, a start-up biotech company from northern California that partners with Planned Parenthood clinics to purchase their aborted fetus parts and resell them for scientific experimentation. As a procurement tech, O\u2019Donnell\u2019s job was to identify pregnant patients matching the specifications of StemExpress customers and to harvest the fetal body parts from their abortions.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not an option, it\u2019s a demand,\u201d<\/strong> StemExpress supervisors instructed O\u2019Donnell about approaching pregnant women at Planned Parenthood for fetal tissue \u201cdonations.\u201d O\u2019Donnell says the StemExpress techs working in Planned Parenthood clinics sometimes harvested fetal parts without obtaining consent from the patients: \u201cIf there was a higher gestation, and the technicians needed it, there were times when they would just take what they wanted. And these mothers don\u2019t know. And there\u2019s no way they would know.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Federal laws on the procurement and use of human fetal tissue require that patients consent to the tissue donation subsequent to consenting to the abortion procedure (42 U.S.C. 289g-1).<\/p>\n

According to O\u2019Donnell, Planned Parenthood gave StemExpress workers access to patient records and schedules so that the harvesting company could plan for the days when patient \u201csupply\u201d would be greatest. \u201cThey give you a sheet, and it\u2019s everybody for that day, who\u2019s coming in for an ultrasound, who\u2019s coming in for an abortion, medical or a late-term abortion,\u201d<\/strong> O\u2019Donnell explains. Even patients just seeking a pregnancy test at Planned Parenthood were considered part of the supply: \u201cPregnancy tests are potential pregnancies, therefore potential specimens. So it\u2019s just taking advantage of the opportunities.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
