A \u201cpolitical technology\u201d company called Crowdpac has analyzed the campaign contributions of nearly 5,000 towns and cities in the United States and has ranked them on a liberal\/conservative spectrum.\u00a0 Thus we can determine\u00a0the ten most liberal and the ten most conservative cities in America<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But most fun is a tool that enables you to enter the name of any town with a population over 6,000, whereupon you can see how it ranks on the scale.\u00a0 (I found, though, that it doesn\u2019t include every<\/em> town over 6,000.)<\/p>\n

Go here<\/a>, type in your town\u2019s name, and see how liberal or conservative it is.<\/p>\n

Want more evidence there are really two Americas, politically speaking? The nonpartisan political tech startup, Crowdpac, attempted to rank every city (with a population over 6,000) by looking at which federal and state candidates their city residents have donated to since 1980. (Over 100 million donations in total.)<\/p>\n

What Crowpac found probably won\u2019t surprise you; people in cities tend to be more liberal than people in rural areas, and the United States is increasingly divided into two \u2014 the liberal coast and the more conservative South and Midwest\/Mountain West. According to its rankings, here are the 10 most conservative and most liberal communities in the United States. (You can check your town\u2019s ranking here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n
