Great Britain is getting ready to vote on whether or not to exit the European Union, a cause that is going by the name \u201cBrexit.\u201d \u00a0Though surely whether or not to do that is the business of the British people, President Obama has weighed in on the matter. \u00a0<\/p>\n

During his visit there, he went so far as to threaten the British that if they leave the EU, they would be \u201cat the back of the queue\u201d for any trade deals. \u00a0Threatening a nation\u2019s economy if they do not bend to our will is essentially what the Saudi Arabia leadership did to the United States<\/a>, to the general outrage of Americans. \u00a0Now the Brits are similarly outraged at Obama. \u00a0See the London Daily Express<\/em> story after the jump.\n<\/p>

The US President warned the UK would be \u201cat the back of the queue\u201d for a trade deal with America if it quit Brussels.But his threat provoked outrage and scorn from pro-Brexit campaigners, who dismissed it as yet another scaremongering ploy from the pro-EU lobby.Mr Obama, who will no longer be in office when decisions on a trade deal are made, delivered a lecture to the British people on why he thinks it is in the UK\u2019s, America\u2019s and the world\u2019s best interests for Britain to vote to stay in the EU on June 23.<\/section>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He weighed into the debate despite being warned by a host of anti-EU campaigners to \u201cbutt out\u201d of our referendum battle.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/section>\n

He said there could be a US-UK trade agreement \u201cdown the line\u201d but warned: \u201cIt\u2019s not going to happen any time soon, because our focus is on negotiating with a big bloc, the EU. The UK is going to be in the back of the queue.\u201dThe claim, made during a joint news conference with David Cameron, angered Leave campaigners.Tory Justice Minister Dominic Raab said Mr Obama had made \u201ca pretty cynical intervention\u201d. . . .\u201cYou can\u2019t say on the one hand that the relationship is essential and always will be, then say that if you don\u2019t take my advice you\u2019ll be at the back of the queue for a free trade deal. I don\u2019t think the British people will be blackmailed by anyone but he\u2019s entitled to give his view.\n<\/section>\n
