The United States is no longer in the top 10 of the world\u2019s most free countries. \u00a0We are number 15. \u00a0However, despite our obesity rates and bad eating habits, we are number 1 when it comes to health. \u00a0We are #33 in safety and security.\u00a0\u00a0The United States is #11 in economic strength and overall prosperity.<\/p>\n

Scandinavian countries take most of the top spots, with Norway winning the top marks when all of the categories are considered, making it the most prosperous of nations. \u00a0All of this is according to the Legatum Prosperity Index. \u00a0See details after the jump.<\/p>\n

With costly healthcare, a stereotype of obesity and a culture of creatively fatty foods, \u201chealthy\u201d probably isn\u2019t the first word that comes to mind when you think of the United States.<\/p>\n

\n

But according to the Legatum Prosperity Index\u2019s findings for 2015<\/a>, the U.S. is the healthiest country in the world. However, when it comes to freedom, an ideal most Americans pride themselves on, the U.S. falls to 15.<\/p>\n

So what\u2019s the country with the most personal freedom? Canada, followed by New Zealand, Norway, Luxembourg and Iceland.<\/p>\n
