France has banned the showing of this video on French television on the grounds that showing happy, smiling children with Down Syndrome might \u201cdisturb the conscience\u201d of women who have had abortions.<\/p>\n

On November 10th, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondationlejeune.org\/decision-conseil-d-etat-cachez-moi-cet-enfant-trisomique\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-beacon='{\"p\":{\"mnid\":\"entry_text\",\"lnid\":\"citation\",\"mpid\":2,\"plid\":\"https:\/\/www.fondationlejeune.org\/decision-conseil-d-etat-cachez-moi-cet-enfant-trisomique\/\"}}' class=\" decorated-link\">French \u2018State Counsel\u2019 rejected an appeal<\/a> made by people with Down syndrome, their families and allies to lift the ban on broadcasting the award winning \u201cDear Future Mom\u201d video on French television. The ban was previously imposed by the French Broadcasting Counsel. Kids who are unjustly described as a \u2018risk\u2019 before they are born, are now wrongfully portrayed as a \u2018risk\u2019 after birth too.<\/p>\n<div id=\"premium-content\">\nThe video features a number of young people from around the globe telling about their lives. Their stories reflect today\u2019s reality of living with Down syndrome and aims to reassure women who have received a prenatal diagnosis. Their message of hope takes away the fears and questions these women may have, often based on outdated stereotypes. The video was produced in 2014 to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. A day created by Down Syndrome International and officially recognized by the United Nations for the promotion of the human rights of people with Down syndrome.<\/p>\nThe State Counsel said that allowing people with Down syndrome to smile was \u201cinappropriate\u201d because people\u2019s expression of happiness was \u201clikely to disturb the conscience of women who had lawfully made different personal life choices\u201d.<\/p>\nSo our kids, whom studies from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.childrenshospital.org\/news-and-events\/2011\/september-2011\/parents-sibilings-and-people-with-down-syndrome-report-positive-experiences\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-beacon='{\"p\":{\"mnid\":\"entry_text\",\"lnid\":\"citation\",\"mpid\":3,\"plid\":\"http:\/\/www.childrenshospital.org\/news-and-events\/2011\/september-2011\/parents-sibilings-and-people-with-down-syndrome-report-positive-experiences\"}}' class=\" decorated-link\">USA <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tno.nl\/media\/6074\/folder_downsyndroom_voor_ouders.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-beacon='{\"p\":{\"mnid\":\"entry_text\",\"lnid\":\"citation\",\"mpid\":4,\"plid\":\"https:\/\/www.tno.nl\/media\/6074\/folder_downsyndroom_voor_ouders.pdf\"}}' class=\" decorated-link\">the Netherlands<\/a> have proven to be much happier than the cranky, sulky bunch who go trough life without Down syndrome, are banned from public television because their happy faces make post-abortion women feel uncomfortable. Women must continue to believe in the myth that society and medical professionals portray; that Down syndrome is a life of suffering, a burden to their family and society. Obviously, if the truth gets out that 99% of people with Down syndrome are happy with their lives, society may start to question the systematic screening and deliberate mass elimination*) under the
