\"4527428186_6a8f43375d_z\"<\/a>President Trump is taking ownership of the Republican bill to replace Obamacare with an alternative national health care system. \u00a0He is trying to \u201cquash\u201d conservative resistance to the proposal and has pledged to do what it takes to get the bill passed.<\/p>\n

But the President is open to changes to the bill, which will surely look different once it goes through the various committees and amendment processes.<\/p>\n

The administration does not, however, like the word \u201cTrumpcare.\u201d<\/a> \u00a0Then again, the Obama administration did not like the word \u201cObamacare.\u201d \u00a0Just as the previous president preferred \u201cThe Affordable Care Act,\u201d Trump spokesmen prefer the actual name given in the bill, The American Health Care Act.<\/p>\n

\n

Republicans who don\u2019t like it but who want to distance it from Trump are calling it\u00a0Ryancare. \u00a0 Senator Rand Paul, a critic of the program, is\u00a0calling it Obamacare-lite. \u00a0I suspect, though, that \u201cTrumpcare\u201d is going to stick.<\/p>\n

From\u00a0Trump tries to quash conservative uproar over health care bill \u2013 POLITICO<\/a>:<\/em><\/p>\n

President Donald Trump is moving to quiet conservative opposition to the House GOP Obamacare replacement, drawing on his newfound bully pulpit to pressure but also coax rebellious lawmakers.<\/p>\n

Trump on Tuesday night turned his massive Twitter following on one of the most vocal opponents of the repeal bill: conservative firebrand Sen. Rand Paul. The Kentucky Republican had blasted Speaker Paul Ryan\u2019s Obamacare alternative as \u201cObamacare-lite.\u201d But Trump tweeted, \u201cI feel sure that my friend @RandPaul will come along with the new and great health care program because he knows Obamacare is a disaster!\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump also told a group of 20 House GOP whips that he would use all the powers in his Oval Office arsenal to get the GOP alternative over the finish line, and he vowed to summon to the White House opponents of the bill.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis meeting was a confirmation from the president that he will do what\u2019s necessary and will have our backs,\u201d said Rep. Dennis Ross (R-Fla.), one whip in the meeting. \u201cHe basically said whatever we need him to do \u2026 he\u2019ll do that, because it\u2019s really, as Mike Pence said, is a binary choice: You vote to keep Obamacare or you vote to repeal it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
