This time, the studio producing the movies will be Sony\u2013not Disney, which made the first three but then gave up on the project. \u00a0And Sony has taken the huge step of hiring a notable director: \u00a0Joe Johnston, who has given us Captain America,<\/em>\u00a0Honey, I Shrunk the Kids<\/em>,\u00a0\u00a0Jumanji<\/em>, and\u00a0Jurassic Park III<\/em>.<\/p>\n

There is reportedly a script, by writer David Magee (Life of Pi<\/em>), but now that a director has been hired it will probably be re-written. \u00a0Then comes casting, pre-production, production, post-production. . . .<\/p>\n

So exactly when the Silver Chair<\/a> will come to the silver screen is not known. \u00a0But it\u2019s coming!

The\u00a0Chronicles of Narnia<\/em> series reboot has moved forward in a big way with\u00a0Captain America: The First Avenger<\/em> director Joe Johnston boarding\u00a0Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. Disney and Fox previously brought three installments of the C.S. Lewis fantasy classic to life in the middle of the 2000s, but the franchise met its end after\u00a0Voyage of the Dawn Treader<\/em> continued a downward trend for the franchise. However, with the long history of the book series, studios have been eager to move forward with another crack at bringing it to life.<\/p>\n

Sony is currently the studio moving forward with plans<\/a> to bring\u00a0Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair<\/em> to the big screen. Now, the film has taken another big step forward with the project officially landing a director.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is reporting that\u00a0Captain America: The First Avenger<\/a><\/em> director Joe Johnston will be helming\u00a0the fourth\u00a0Narnia<\/em> film, which\u00a0will ultimately serve as a reboot of the franchise. Unlike the previous films that followed the story of the Pevensie children,\u00a0The Silver Chair<\/em> will follow the story of their cousin\u00a0Eustace Scrubb (previously played by Will Poulter).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
