From A Canadian Newspaper Apologizes for Inventing a Scandal \u2013 NYTimes.com<\/a>:<\/p>\n

In a lengthy correction, the New Brunswick newspaper said that \u201cthere was no credible support\u201d for the article\u2019s claim that Prime Minister Stephen Harper had pocketed the wafer during the funeral of a former governor-general or that a Roman Catholic priest was demanding an explanation from his office.<\/p>\n

Unusually, the newspaper apologized not just to Mr. Harper but also to the two reporters whose names appeared on the article, adding that the errors were introduced \u201cin the editing process\u201d and were included \u201cwithout the knowledge of the reporters and without any credible support for them.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We blogged<\/a> about this when the story came out, so please note this correction. On the other hand, we ended up discussing a different scandal, that a Roman Catholic priest would commune a Protestant, and that a Protestant would want to commune at a Roman Catholic altar.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
