Hodges, itself allows for dissenting views.<\/p>\n<div id=\"premium-content\">\n<p>Anderson cites this language from the decision:\u00a0\u00a0\u201cMany who deem same-sex marriage to be wrong reach that conclusion based on decent and honorable religious or philosophical premises, and neither they nor their beliefs are disparaged here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anderson says that accusing of discrimination those who do not believe in becoming complicit in gay marriages \u201cdisparages\u201d them and their beliefs, which is not permitted under the ruling.<\/p>\n<p>As we blogged about earlier in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/geneveith\/2017\/12\/the-case-of-the-gay-wedding-cake\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">our discussion of the case<\/a>, the ruling includes even stronger language permitting religious exemptions than is considered here.\u00a0 Justice Kennedy,\u00a0writing the decision legalizing gay marriage,\u00a0wrote\u00a0<a class=\"decorated-link decorated-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2017\/12\/05\/speech-religion-lgbt-rights-collide-supreme-court\/921458001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">this<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt must be emphasized that religions, and those who adhere to religious doctrines, may continue to advocate with utmost, sincere conviction that, by divine precepts, same-sex marriage should not be condoned.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I don\u2019t know how it could be plainer.\u00a0 \u201cThose who adhere to religious doctrines may continue to advocate. . .that same-sex marriage should not be condoned.\u201d\u00a0 They have the right not just to hold their opinions privately but to \u201cadvocate\u201d against same-sex marriage.<\/p>\n<p>As Anderson points out, the reason discrimination complaints are targeting religious dissenters is gay activists\u2019 project (funded by Tim Gill\u2019s $500 million war chest) to \u201cpunish the wicked.\u201d\u00a0 By \u201cwicked,\u201d LGBT activists mean advocates of traditional sexual morality.\u00a0 (We <a href=\"https:\/\/www.patheos.com\/blogs\/geneveith?s=punish+the+wicked\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\">blogged about this too.)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Read\u00a0Ryan T. Anderson\u2019s article,\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/article\/454423\/christian-bakers-refuse-bake-gay-wedding-cake-are-not-bigots\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Christian Bakers Refuse to Bake Gay Wedding Cake &amp; Are Not Bigots | National Review<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not a lawyer nor the son of a lawyer, but isn\u2019t this reasoning correct?\u00a0 (I\u2019d like to hear from someone who is a lawyer.)<\/p>\n<p>I suppose Supreme Court rulings such as Obergefell v.
