James Kushiner, of the indispensable \u00a0Touchstone Magazine,<\/a>in that publication\u2019s blog, points out something I was going to comment upon, but he takes it even further:\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Holland, some have rebranded Lent as a\u00a0\u201cChristian Ramadan.\u201d<\/a>\u00a0Because Ramadan is more familiar to the youth, you see. And who\u2019s fault is that? While we\u2019re it, isn\u2019t canon law simply \u201cChristian sharia\u201d? And a church building a \u201cChristian mosque\u201d? The Bible a \u201cChristian Koran\u201d?<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Crusades were the Christian jihad, which is why Luther so vehemently opposed them. \u00a0Is the pantsuit the Christian burqa? \u00a0The point, though, is to notice how the paradigm, at least in Holland, is shifting, so that Islam, rather than Christianity has become the religious frame of reference.<\/p>\n
