Ideologies often get pushed so far that they start contradicting themselves.<\/p>\n

If sexual identity is based solely upon how a person \u201cself-identifies\u201d\u2013so that a man must be accepted as a woman if he says so\u2013what does that do to feminism?\u00a0 Or what if a woman rebels against female stereotypes and wants access to masculine roles?\u00a0 Should she be a feminist or reject being a woman and identify as a man?\u00a0 What does that do to feminism?<\/p>\n

If a man has sexual desires for other men, does that mean that he is gay, or that he is transgender\u2013a woman trapped in a man\u2019s body\u2013in need of \u201cgender re-assignment surgery\u201d?\u00a0 What does that do to gay rights?<\/p>\n

\n

What about a man who identifies as a woman but who, rejecting the surgery, still feels sexual desire for women, thus further identifying as a lesbian?\u00a0 (Even though he has sex with women in the traditional manner.)\u00a0 What does this do to lesbianism?<\/p>\n

Radical feminists and lesbian activists speaking at the unlikely venue of a Heritage Foundation conference<\/a> denounced the transgender and gender identity movement in the name of feminism and gay rights.<\/p>\n

Kara Dansky, a feminist lawyer and spokeswoman for Women\u2019s Liberation Front (WoLF), spoke against the so-called \u201cEquality Act\u201d at the Heritage Foundation on Monday, denouncing the transgender and gender identity movement as anti-women and anti-lesbian in particular. Her remarks echoed the London Pride March sign declaring that \u201cTransactivism Erases Lesbians.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a men\u2019s Rights movement \u2014 this is really a men\u2019s rights movement,\u201d Dansky declared, calling for men to stand up for women and denounce the transgender movement. . . .<\/p>\n

\u201cI got kicked off of the Baltimore mayor\u2019s LGBTQ commission \u2014 as the only lesbian \u2014 simply for stating biological facts,\u201d [Julia] Beck said. \u201cI was found guilty of \u2018violence.\u2019 My crime? Using male pronouns to talk about a convicted male rapist who identifies as transgender and prefers female pronouns.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter that he sexually assaulted two women in a women\u2019s prison after being transferred there on account of his \u2018gender identity.\u2019 Oh no, it is far more criminal for me to call a male rapist \u2018he\u2019 than it is for him to rape,\u201d Beck argued.<\/p>\n

Adding insult to injury, \u201cthe man who led my inquisition also identifies as \u2018transgender.\u2019 He is the president of the Baltimore Transgender Alliance and claims to be a lesbian,\u201d she added, bitterly. \u201cI find that almost funny because everything he does makes life for women, girls, and lesbians worse.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe meeting made one thing crystal clear: Inclusivity means all voices are welcome, except women\u2019s, except lesbians\u2019,\u201d Beck said. \u201cEverything is about the T now, entirely eclipsing the L, G, and B. The T is diametrically opposed to the first three letters in the acronym, and especially to the L.\u201d. . .<\/p>\n

\u201cSexualities are based on sex, but gender identities are based on stereotypes,\u201d she said. \u201cGirls who play with trucks and like the color blue, boys who play with dolls and like the color pink, children with autism \u2026 children who would likely grow up to be happy gay adults are now being sterilized for defying sex stereotypes.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
