Democrats have maintained that Russia conspired to put President Trump into office.\u00a0 That accusation was shot down by the Mueller investigation, but the new charges, named in the articles of impeachment, is that the President was using another former Soviet republic, the Ukraine, to investigate Joe Biden\u2019s son and thus to help him win the next election.<\/p>\n

I myself am worried that the Democrats<\/em> are in thrall to the Russians.\u00a0 Why else would Democrats do everything they can to ensure that President Trump wins re-election?<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think the general public is clamoring for impeachment, especially in the year in which the voters<\/em> can decide whether or not to remove him from office.\u00a0 The trial will win him a great deal of sympathy.\u00a0 And when the Republican-controlled Senate votes in his favor, as it assuredly will\u2013rendering the impeachment proceedings a futile gesture\u2013President Trump will claim complete vindication.\u00a0 Any criticisms his rival candidates will raise will be answered by \u201cBut I was cleared!\u201d<\/p>\n

Anyway, what do you think about all of this?\u00a0 Those who oppose President Trump:\u00a0 Is the impeachment worth it, even if it fails?\u00a0 Those who support Trump:\u00a0 Does this damage his legacy, or does it raise him in your esteem?<\/p>\n
