On the Democratic side, I think Biden is not very electable, due to his abysmal favorability ratings, but he may be the most electable candidate the Democrats have right now, so they would be wise to stick with him as they did in 2020.\u00a0 He will be electable if he is up against someone the Democrats can portray as an \u201cextremist,\u201d which, as the main post shows, is the Democrats\u2019 kiss of death.<\/p>\n<div id=\"premium-content\">\n<p>On the Republican side, I think highly of Ron DeSantis\u2019s take-no-prisoners approach to woke ideology and other culture war issues.\u00a0 And yet, this will open him up to the E-word.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think he could win.\u00a0 I suspect Nikki Haley or Tim Scott might prove more electable, pulling away female and minority voters away from the Democrats, while not scaring the independents.<\/p>\n<p>I think they would win the general election, though I don\u2019t see how they could get the primary nomination.\u00a0 And I\u2019m not saying I favor either of them over DeSantis.\u00a0 As for Trump, for all of the enthusiasm he engenders among conservatives, he may be the only candidate who is less electable than Biden.<\/p>\n<p>What is your analysis?<\/p><\/div>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Instead of asking whom you want to be president, this time I am asking a completely different question, one that is objective and unconnected to your personal preferences:\u00a0 What candidates, from both parties, do you think would be the most electable?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1281,"featured_media":59751,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[36,1],"tags":[12691,13320,13323],"class_list":["post-66381","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-politics","category-uncategorized","tag-2024-presidential-campaign","tag-electability","tag-presidential-candidates"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.1 -
