<\/iframe>\n<\/p>First things first. I sincerely hope that you\u2019ve never had the displeasure of watching the abominable show \u201cTwo and a Half Men.\u201d <\/p>\nIf I were to draft a list of the top 10 things that make me feel alienated from my fellow citizens, the fact that this was for many years the most watched show in America would be right up there at the top of the list. It\u2019s so vile and unfunny. And I\u2019ve never even come close to seeing an actual episode \u2014 just a few snippets here and there.<\/p>\nHowever, as millions and millions of Americans know, the \u201chalf\u201d in the title refers to the kid on the sitcom and he went full Charlie Sheen recently and ripped on the show. <\/p>\nThis not being standard operating procedure in Hollywood, his rant made headlines. What makes it interesting for our purposes is that the comments against the show were nothing but religious and were made in the context of a recorded testimony of his Christian faith. So my fave story has to be the one that focuses not on the content of the comments but, rather, the business side of things. <a href=\"http:\/\/insidetv.ew.com\/2012\/11\/26\/angus-t-jones-filth-men-contract\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Entertainment Weekly<\/em><\/a> has a piece headlined \u201cAngus T. Jones outburst: Has he breached his \u2018Two and a Half Men\u2019 contract?\u201d The end of that piece says, by the way:<\/p>\n<blockquote>Jones gave his testimony to religious conspiracy theorist <a href=\"http:\/\/forerunnerchronicles.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\" decorated-link\" rel=\"nofollow\">Chris \u201cThe Forerunner\u201d Hudson<\/a>, who no doubt hoped his surprising interview with the star would shine a larger spotlight on his end-of-days beliefs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\nSo I know nothing about Chris Hudson. I\u2019m sorry, I know nothing about this whole \u201cThe Forerunner\u201d thing. However, I prefer my journalists to show me how a person is a religious conspiracy theorist rather than merely to assert that he is. As it\u2019s written, the reporter makes it seem like belief in \u201cend-of-days\u201d is the substantiation for the charge, which I assume was unintended. I tried to dig around for some more info and it looks like Hudson is involved with theories about The Illuminati.<\/p>\nI rather liked how the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment\/gossip\/la-et-mg-angus-t-jones-christian-testimony-two-and-a-half-men-20121126,0,5071222.story\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Los Angeles Times<\/em><\/a> handled it:<\/p>\n<blockquote><a id=\"PECLB0000005398\" title=\"Angus T. Jones\" href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/topic\/entertainment\/angus-t.-jones-PECLB0000005398.topic\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Angus T. Jones<\/a> doesn\u2019t much like <a id=\"ENTTV000000112\" title=\"Two and a Half Men (tv program)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/topic\/entertainment\/television\/two-a-half-men-%28tv-program%29-ENTTV000000112.topic\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\u201cTwo and a Half Men,\u201d<\/a> and he wishes viewers wouldn\u2019t watch the show.<\/p>\nSo said the 19-year-old TV star in Christian testimony shot principally in his production trailer and posted Monday by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frcc.us\/english-home\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Forerunner Christian Church<\/a> on <a id=\"ORCRP00000211004\" title=\"YouTube\" href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/topic\/arts-culture\/computer-networking-internet\/social-media\/youtube-ORCRP00000211004.topic\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n\u201cJake from \u2018Two and a Half Men\u2019 means nothing. He is a nonexistent character \u2026 ,\u201d Jones said, starting about halfway through the video above. \u201cIf you watch \u2018Two and a Half Men,\u2019 please stop watching \u2018Two and a Half Men.\u2019 I\u2019m on \u2018Two and a Half Men,\u2019 and I don\u2019t want to be on it.<\/p>\n\u201cPlease stop watching it; stop filling your head with filth. Please. People say it\u2019s just entertainment.\u00a0\u2026 Do some research on the effects of television and your brain, and I promise you you\u2019ll have a decision to make when it comes to television, and especially with what you watch.\u201d \u2026<\/p>\n\u201cA lot of people don\u2019t like to think about how deceptive the enemy is. He\u2019s been doing this for a lot longer than any of us have been around \u2026 ,\u201d Jones said, presumably referring to Satan. \u201cThere\u2019s no playing around when it comes to eternity.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\nJust a simple set-up, a helpful amount of interpretation, and lots of quotes. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/life\/tv\/2012\/11\/26\/angus-jones-criticizes-two-and-a-half-men\/1727567\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">USA Today<\/em><\/a> story on the matter was interesting because it never mentioned which religion influenced Jones. The most it ever says is here:<\/p>\n<blockquote>Two and a Half Men <\/em>has a new critic \u2014 and he\u2019s on the inside.<\/p>\nIn a YouTube video, Angus T. Jones, who plays the teen Jake Harper on the CBS sitcom, tells viewers not to watch the series because it contains \u201cfilth.\u201d His comments are part of a religious testimony given to <a title=\"http:\/\/video.forerunnerchronicles.com\/\" href=\"http:\/\/video.forerunnerchronicles.com\/\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Forerunner Chronicles<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\nParticularly considering the obliqueness of the name of the outfit to which he gave his testimony, a bit more information sure would have been helpful. You think?<\/p>\nIn other journalism news, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/live-feed\/angus-t-jones-trashes-two-half-men-393980\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> handled this problem with a much more detailed report. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bigstory.ap.org\/article\/actor-cbs-comedy-two-and-half-men-filth\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Associated Press<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/entertainment\/sns-201211261731reedbusivarietynvr1118062623-20121126,0,5358449.story\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Variety<\/em><\/a> each had short reports, too.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"First things first.
