<\/a><\/p>\nThis is the second in my \u201cBest Things\u201d feature<\/a>, where I highlight things from online or elsewhere that I think are awesome but that aren\u2019t particularly well-known. This week\u2019s entry is actually kind of cheating \u2013 it\u2019s three things for the price of one.<\/p>\n If you\u2019re looking for a video-based introduction to Swedenborg, there is no better place to start than the work of Curtis Childs and his \u201cOff the Left Eye\u201d team<\/a>, sponsored by the Swedenborg Foundation (they explain what \u201cOff the Left Eye\u201d means in this short video<\/a>). Every week, Curtis hosts an hour-long live YouTube webcast called Swedenborg and Life<\/a><\/em>, delving into all sorts of topics related to Swedenborg and his theological works. The show has a good sized following, and Curtis and his team excel at interacting with the community they\u2019ve fostered; you\u2019d be hard-pressed to find a more productive comments section anywhere on YouTube. Curtis regularly answers viewers\u2019 questions at the end of the show, and from time to time devotes the entire hour to answering frequently asked questions. The production value is high \u2013 there\u2019s great animation, high-quality video, and good music \u2013 but the best part of the show is the clear, funny, engaging presentation even of complex topics (you can see from the photo above how very seriously the producers take themselves).<\/p>\n Besides the hour-long Swedenborg and Life<\/i> videos, offTheLeftEye occasionally posts shorter videos (one of which was recently featured on The Dr. Oz Show<\/em><\/a>), including several great \u201cSwedenborg Minute<\/a>\u201d videos that provide quick overviews of some basic Swedenborgian concepts.<\/p>\nOff the Left Eye<\/em> webcasts and videos<\/h1>\n
