Joseph Finder\u2019s books are fast reads, fun, and worth dropping my other books for. He introduced Nick Heller, a \u201cprivate spy,\u201d in Vanished (my review here<\/a>) and this is a follow up novel.<\/p>\n

An old family friend, who also happens to be the richest man in Boston, has a big problem and has turned to Nick for help. Teenage daughter Alexa has vanished and the FBI isn\u2019t willing to take the kidnapping seriously since they\u2019re investigating the friend for high-level business fraud. Nick knows Alexa from years ago and starts tracking her down.<\/p>\n

As is so often the case, Nick discovers that everyone lies even when it seems in their best interest to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.<\/p>\n

Buried Secrets is told from Nick\u2019s and Alexa\u2019s point of view and one really does feel for Alexa. Don\u2019t read the book cover because it gives away a couple of plot points that would have been more fun to discover for myself.<\/p>\n

As always with Finder\u2019s books, I literally could not put it down. I wound up carrying it around the house with me, hoping for a few minutes here and there to read. Obviously, I\u2019m addicted to Finder\u2019s thrillers. Like potato chips, you can\u2019t read just one chapter. You always are left wanting more and Vanished is no exception.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
