Although a significant minority, the number of pro-life women in Congress has doubled November 6, 2020

More pro-life women were elected Nov. 3 to Congress, all Republicans, joining 11 pro-life incumbents, also female Republicans, who won reelection. The 13 new new pro-life congresswomen will join the House in January.

Half– 7 of the 13 elected, replaced pro-abortion Democrat-held seats: Stephanie Brice (OK), Yvette Herrell (NM), Ashley Hinson (IA), Maria Salazar (FL), Michelle Fischbach (MN), Nancy Mace (SC) and Nicole Malliotakis (NY).

The remaining six newly elected pro-life congresswomen are replacing pro-life congressmen in the House: Lauren Boebert (CO), Kat Cammack (FL),Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA), Diana Harshbarger (TN), Lisa McClain (MI) and Mary Miller (IL).

Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said, “It is encouraging to know that despite the media-driven ‘blue wave’ lie, the number of conservative, pro-life women in Congress has doubled. These women who value the sanctity of life will now be serving in the U.S. House and Senate. These pro-life women will bring new energy to Washington to preserve precious preborn children. This is another important step to making the womb a safe place again in America.”

At least six pro-life women will serve in the U.S. Senate. They are Marsha Blackburn (TN), Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Joni Ernst (IA), Deb Fischer (NE), Cynthia Lummis (WY) and Cindy Hyde-Smith (MS).

Still, eight races in which pro-life women are leading have not yet been called.
