Genesis 31: God Is with You

Genesis 31: God Is with You 2012-02-13T10:17:48-05:00

Then the LORD said to Jacob, “Go back to the land of your fathers and to your relatives, and I will be with you.” -Genesis 31:3

God is always with us. There is never a moment he leaves on vacation or turns his back on us due to our failures. Jacob’s life offers deep insight into this “always present” attribute of God.

Jacob had betrayed his brother and his father. After fleeing his home, he found himself betrayed by another family member named Laban. Yet Jacob continued to worship the Lord. Twenty years after leaving his family, God called him to return. Jacob did not know whether he would be welcomed, but he knew God had promised to be with him and that was enough.

Your day may seem too big to handle. Your past failures may remind you of your weakness. But God is with you. He knows your past, your present, and your future. Do not doubt his call on your life; embrace it. He will be with you every step of the journey.
