^{45\u00a0<\/sup>When Moses finished reciting all these words to all Israel, ^{46\u00a0<\/sup>he said to them, \u201cTake to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. ^{47\u00a0<\/sup>They are not just idle words for you\u2014they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.\u201d<\/em> -Deuteronomy 32:45-47<\/p>\n}}}

Moses told the people of Israel to \u201ctake to heart\u201d his words so they would obey God\u2019s law. Why? \u201cThey are not just idle words for you\u2013they are your life.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is my view that most American Christians do not view Scripture as \u201cyour life.\u201d Special? Yes. Holy? Sure. Perfect? Ok. But \u201cyour life\u201d? Not so often.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve even heard some accuse serious Bible students as committing bibliolatry, or worship of the Bible. This is simply inaccurate. Those who love God\u2019s Word do not bow down and pray to the book itself; they invest their lives into knowing and living words that are literally \u201cGod breathed\u201d (2 Timothy 3:16-17). If anything, Christians are to take Scripture more seriously, not less seriously.<\/p>\n

How would you live differently if you woke up each day with the conviction that the Bible is \u201cyour life\u201d? This is in part what has inspired me to handwrite every word of the Bible. I don\u2019t have to or even need to in order to understand it, but I desire to invest my life in the presence of words that are \u201cmy life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Consider today that God\u2019s Word is \u201cyour life.\u201d Then apply accordingly. Take to hear the word of the Lord.<\/p>\n
