Then the king summoned Absalom, and he came in and bowed down with his face to the ground before the king. And the king kissed Absalom<\/em>. -2 Samuel 14:33<\/p>\n

Broken relationships break families. In David\u2019s case, Absalom\u2019s absence had not improved their relationship; it had weakened it.<\/p>\n

Absalom had killed his brother in revenge for the rape of Tamar. Now, Absalom lived in exile while the king lived with only the memory of his son. Joab attempted to reunite David and his son Absalom. At first, David relented to bringing Absalom back to Israel, but would not see him in person. Only after a field had been set on fire did he reunite with his son.<\/p>\n

While future problems would arise for these two men, this day marked a father and son reunited. This picture is one God has shared for our benefit today. First, we have those in our lives with whom we need reunited. Whether father, mother, child, brother, sister, coworker, friend, or another relationship, there is still hope to be reunited today. Yet me must act will we are alive. Tomorrow may be too late.<\/p>\n

Second, God offers a united relationship with him. Through Jesus, he offers forgiveness and the ability to become his child. Amazingly, those who believe in Jesus as Lord will share in eternal life with the Father.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t wait. Be reunited today. With those on earth. With God. Be reunited.<\/p>\n
