These are the last words of David:<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe inspired utterance of David son of Jesse,<\/em>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the utterance of the man exalted by the Most High,<\/em>
\nthe man anointed by the God of Jacob,<\/em>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the hero of Israel\u2019s songs:<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

2\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cThe Spirit of the Lord spoke through me;<\/em>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0his word was on my tongue.<\/em>\u201d -2 Samuel 23:1-2<\/p>\n

Last words reveal a lot about a person. In David\u2019s case, we know what they were. As expected, they speak of the Lord. Perhaps unexpected, David focused on an important trait of any person God uses greatly\u2013\u201chis word was on my tongue.\u201d<\/p>\n

God spoke through David, but David also spoke God\u2019s words. We have some of them in Scripture as part of the inspired Scriptures. Yet there is a sense in which every person used by God is a person who speaks forth God\u2019s truth. Those unafraid and unashamed of God\u2019s words are used by him to share his message to those others do not reach.<\/p>\n

Today, settle once and for all that God\u2019s words will be your words. Be willing to be unliked and ridiculed in order to speak the words of the one who matters most. He will be with you. When you final day comes, may your last words be those of David that God\u2019s word was on your tongue.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
