Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.\u201d<\/em> -1 Chronicles 22:12-13<\/p>\n}}

When David commanded his son Solomon to build the temple of the Lord, we find words of wisdom applicable to our lives today. What are they? First, we are to ask the Lord for wisdom to live according to his ways. Second, we are called to live in obedience to God. Third, we are to be strong and courageous. Fourth, we are not to be afraid or discouraged.<\/p>\n

Which of these four commands are the most difficult for you to follow today? For me, it is certainly the last one\u2013discouragement. When the day (or days) feel stacked against me, the brain chooses discouragement, saying, \u201cYou\u2019ll never make it. Give up. This is too big for you to attempt.\u201d The truth is that sometimes\u00a0 I do listen to the voice of discouragement. When I do, my path doesn\u2019t become easier; it becomes even more difficult.<\/p>\n

God never promised an easy path. He instead promised to be with us on the path, whether mountain or valley. Don\u2019t forget\u2013God is with us every step of life. Let us walk with him faithfully along the journey.<\/p>\n
