$\"\"$ <\/a>\u201c^{8<\/sup> Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, ^{9<\/sup> for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.\u201d<\/em> -1 Peter 1:8-9<\/p>\n}}

These verses are some of my favorite in Scripture. Why? When I was 17, I first began to seriously read the Bible. Where did I begin? 1 Peter. In a time when Jesus had become my rescue, I discovered that he was my joy. No longer would I pursue my selfish lifestyle, but rather in pursuing him, I would find the joy I had sought in so many other ways.<\/p>\n

Fast forward 18 (yes, 18) years and I am still reading the Bible, being changed by it, and doing my best to live it out in my daily life. I would have never dreamed that finding my joy in Jesus would lead to where I am today. My life is more meaningful, and rewarding than I would have ever predicted when I first read these words as a searching teenager. Because of Christ, I can truly say I live with inexpressible and glorious joy. Why? My soul has been changed. I am no longer a person in search of purpose, but a person living with purose.<\/p>\n

The difference is and always will be the joy of Christ living in me.<\/p>\n
