With that in mind, here are a few books reviews you mind find interesting from the most recent issue of Themelios.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>Old Testament, New Testament, &amp; Ethics<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/themelios.thegospelcoalition.org\/review\/echoes-of-exodus-tracing-themes-of-redemption-through-scripture\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Echoes of Exodus: Tracing Themes of Redemption through Scripture<\/a> (by Alastair Roberts and Andrew Wilson)<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Echoes-Exodus-Tracing-Redemption-Scripture-ebook\/dp\/B079XVRHR8\/ref=as_li_ss_il?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1544439944&amp;sr=8-2&amp;keywords=echoes+of+exodus&amp;linkCode=li3&amp;tag=jacwu-20&amp;linkId=c497d3ee29f198c86801f6cda7e043e9&amp;language=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" class=\" decorated-link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?_encoding=UTF8&amp;ASIN=B079XVRHR8&amp;Format=_SL250_&amp;ID=AsinImage&amp;MarketPlace=US&amp;ServiceVersion=20070822&amp;WS=1&amp;tag=jacwu-20&amp;language=en_US\" width=\"272\" height=\"414\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>According to the reviewers, the authors\u2019 \u201cstated purpose for\u00a0<em>Echoes of Exodus<\/em>\u00a0is to convince readers that \u201cScripture contains all sorts of connections, riffs, and themes\u201d which may have heretofore been missed, and to do that by showing rather than telling (p. 13).\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/themelios.thegospelcoalition.org\/review\/outsider-designations-and-boundary-construction-in-the-new-testament\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Outsider Designations and Boundary Construction in the New Testament: Christian Communities and the Formation of Group Identity<\/a> (by Paul Treblico)<\/p>\n<p>I reviewed this book. At the end of the review, I conclude:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe early church did not eradicate all social distinctions; in a sense, they reinforced the lines that distinguished insiders from outsiders. Trebilco concludes, \u201cto undermine all outsider labels would be to destroy group boundaries and hence group identity\u201d (p. 286). Accordingly, this book will benefit anyone who wants to consider how biblical writers both understood and shaped the church\u2019s sense of identity amid diverse social groups.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/themelios.thegospelcoalition.org\/review\/known-by-god-a-biblical-theology-of-identity\" class=\" decorated-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Known by God: A Biblical Theology of Identity<\/a> (by Brian Rosner)<\/p>\n<p>The reviewer opens,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIn\u00a0<em>Known by God,<\/em>\u00a0Brian Rosner offers a very satisfying study of biblical anthropology framed by the question of identity. Repeatedly, and rightly, he returns to the fact that being known by God is the ground of all human identity, and to be known by God is to be a child of God.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>From the Mission &amp; Culture Section<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>In this issue, the M&amp;C section is jam packed with book reviews.
