Look, I remember the riot in LA after the Rodney King verdict, though I\u2019m far too young to remember the riots in the 60s (though, from history, I know that in Detroit, this was hardly an impetus to urban renewal, but merely accelerated white flight). <\/p>\n

I also recall the anti-war protests after we went into Iraq. <\/p>\n

In the former, massive amounts of property damage. \u00a0In the latter case, not so much. <\/p>\n

But this tactic of substantial disruption of people\u2019s lives \u2014 what for? \u00a0What will it accomplish? \u00a0Do the protesters actually believe it will rally people to their cause? \u00a0So far as I can tell, it\u2019s an indicator that the protestors don\u2019t really have an agenda, a set of solutions, a plan, other than just \u201cwe want to show everyone how mad we are about this,\u201d coupled with opportunistic \u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to have a way to get away with looting \u00a0and destroying things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Instapundit.com <\/a>quotes an Obama interview in the Washington Examiner<\/a>: \u00a0the \u201ccountry\u2019s conscience sometimes has to be triggered by some inconvenience.\u201d <\/p>\n

No. <\/p>\n

I have neither the time nor the resources to research this, but I would be rather surprised if \u201csome inconvience\u201d (let alone rioting) has a history of \u201ctriggering consciences.\u201d<\/p>\n
